Requirements for your Dress

Since you will be providing the “canvas” dress, there are a few limitations to consider.

  • The dress must be lace, chiffon, organza, or tulle. No satin or solid gowns; my work is best done with transparent materials. Ideally 3 or more layers.

  • No rosette gowns or dresses with very tight sewn layers.

  • I do not offer full-dress coloring or skirt-only gradients; if you want color on the top as well, I can do hand painting or beadwork, but not full-color gradients.

The Process

Nº1. The Contract | Upon Booking

Once you purchase, your spot will be locked in, and I will email you to discuss your gown.

During this conversation, if for any reason you or I think this service is no longer a good fit for you, the full amount will be refunded. Following our discussion, if I accept your order, you will receive a contract and have one week to sign.  Your payment remains refundable until the contract is signed. If, for any reason, you do not wish to sign the contract, I will refund you and open the spot for another client.

Once the contract is signed, there is a no-refund policy. It’s official at that point, and the fun can begin!

I will also guide you through getting your dress to me in the first month of your booking or sooner if you are getting any alterations done with my specialist.

Nº2. Designing | April

First, I will draw a digital sketch of you in your gown and send several color options and ideas that will work well with your gown and desired outcome. We can go back and forth a few times to find the winner, and at some point, typically when the options are narrowed down, I will suggest we start physical samples.

This design phase can last up to one month into your booking, but a design must be chosen by the end of the month so I can start working!

Also, feel free to discuss any styling questions you have for your entire bridal party with me! I’m happy to use my artistic eye to suggest ways to create a cohesive look.

** Any additional items, veils, shoe coloring, ties, party attire, flowers, etc, are available but will be an additional fee**

Nº3. Coloring | May-August

During this time, I will be in Coloring mode; just let me do my thing. You probably won’t hear much from me at this point, and I do not share photos until the dress is done. Once completed (Around midway through the last month of the booking), you will receive a catalog of pictures and videos and instructions on the bustle (if needed). I do allow revisions at this time. However, I recommend trusting me on color matches, as photos can slightly alter the color’s appearance. I will then ship the dress back to you or set up an in-person try-on if you are local or wish to visit Kansas City.

That’s pretty much it! I will be there to guide you the whole way, and of course, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I look forward to working with you!

FAQ

What if I don’t have a dress yet?

That’s fine you just need one in hand by April 1st. This dress must also meet the requirements above. I can help you pick out a dress as well if needed.

When Should I do Alterations?

For best results, any alterations that affect your dress's length SHOULD be made before coloring. That means having your shoes picked out, too! If you don’t have a seamstress yet, let me know and I can get you a quote and details for having my seamstress hem your dress. She can also help with fit alterations but those do require in person fittings. ** alterations not included **

Next Opening?!

This may be my last opening for a while. I am working on new options with made-from-scratch gowns to replace it.
