Sneak-A-Peek At My Upcoming Gowns

Nº1. PROLOGUE

Instead of stacks of canvases, I have racks of discontinued wedding gowns.

I work with small boutiques to help clear out gowns they can no longer order. I then wash, steam, repair, alter, dye, and paint each dress to transform it into an original one-off creation. Here are some of the gowns I have collected and my visions for them; so you can see if your dream dress might soon hit the shop. Sizes are listed as well ♥

BTW — I tend to go rogue; not all the gowns will survive, only the strongest. It’s cut-throat on who will keep my attention. I often start one and abandon it, then circle back when the light bulb flips on with the right solution. So these are kind of sort of in order and will change periodically. I’ll leave notes. — sorry I’m an *artist*, it’s part of the process.

The Gowns & Vision

For more images of these dresses and exact size measurements, google the gown name. I am also actively still developing veils and accessories; more of those are planned to be released this December.

Willowby Watter 59703R Mila ~ Sizes 4, 14 & 18W

Inspired by pink fireworks, I am using deep blues and purples at the bottom of this dress to represent the night sky. Then, I am hand painting the larger lace patterns with bursting neon HOT pink “firework” florals. As the ombre fades out, it switches into teals and pinks, and the hand-painted lace bits will lighten, too.

Willowby Waverly 58803 ~ Size 18W

I have not started yet, but the vision is there. Inspired by this unique copper base color, I am going to have each layer fade into a teal to mimic a copper patina. The lace will get some added shine with either jewels or gold leaf. ~ side note: the bottom layer of this dress detaches! I’m obsessed.

Wtoo Waters Effie ~ 16W

*Skirt ONLY*The prep work is almost done. I’m going to do a Prism coloring with this one — light rainbow following along the horsehair hem.

Hazel Lynette ~ Size 12

This one is quite the project. I’m nearly entirely hand-painting this one. It features many red and pink-toned florals on a green background with touches of purples and blues, topped with matching jewels. I’m about 40% done. *psttt the cover image of this blog is a photo of this gown*

Allure Bridals Patsy ~ Stretchy Size 16

I am still shocked I got my hands on a colorful dress. You know what we need to do: make it more colorful. She is also two-part; the lining is separate! This is a game changer for my work, so I feel like we have a full-color opportunity here. Since she can be worn as two different gowns, they both need to be addressed separately. I have to give you two complete works, a lovely set; it might take a bit.

Madison James Mj650L ~ Size 14

I am using the same colors as Moab for this dress but in a different style. I’ve started by dying the back lightly and then adding handmade florals in deep marron with teal beaded leaves and stems. Most of my work is going on the top back of the dress, and I will only lightly be coloring the bottom.
