  • I offer a 7-day try-on period from the date the dress is received. During these seven days, the dress can be returned for any reason at zero cost to you.

    — Returns must be unworn, unaltered, in original condition and with all original packaging.
    — If purchased in person, the sale is final immediately.
    — Any custom work, such as my accessories are final sale, not returnable.
    — Refunds are processed back to the original form of payment once I have received the gown back and inspected it.

Once the seven days have passed, the dress sale is final.

  • Since bridal sizes are so ridiculous I use inches.

    • Bust (B) — This is the circumference around the fullest part of your chest.

    • Waist (W) — Your smallest circumference around your stomach.

    • Hip (H) — The fullest circumference around your pelvic/buttocks area.

    • Waist to Floor — This is the straight distance from your waistline to where the dress will hit the floor.

    — Keep the tape measure level when measuring and get help for the best results!
    — Look for a dress that fits your largest circumference.

ALWAYS look for a dress slightly bigger, never smaller.— You can get alterations to have the gown taken in.
    — I recommend staying within 5 inches to avoid drastic alterations.

    To shorten the length
    — have your seamstress take the dress up from the top of the skirt, where it meets the bodice.

If your worried about alterations or just want someone you can trust with such a unique piece, come to Kansas City!
    — I have a professional seamstress I work with directly; we can do a try-on and alterations consult. Click here to schedule that with me.

    Alterations are not included.

  • Prep Before The Wedding
The color is completely permanent and safe to steam/press. Here are my suggestions for a flawless wedding day look.
    — Let the dress hang, train out in a safe room for 24hrs, this will help it self straighten and air out.
    — Steam out any remaining wrinkles.
    — Use a lint roller over any spots that have picked up hair or dust.
    — If the hem got really dirty at any point during try-ons you can spot clean it. Use a squirt bottle to drench/blast the dirt with a rag behind the fabric and another rag to blot from the front.

    Cleaning Your Dress
See my blog for Hand Washing instructions. Dry-cleaning is not recommended due to harsh chemicals that can remove the color.

    Storage and Travel
An acid-free unbleached muslin travel bag is provided with your order to keep the dress safe.
    — Keep in a dry area and out of direct sun and with good air flow.
    — Do not place other items in with your dress
    — NO plastic. Clothing kept in air-tight storage can get mildew.

  • Hey! I’m Taylor Ann Art, owner operator and creator here at Canvas Bridal.
    — I’m passionate about self expression, creative freedom, and ethical production.

So I do things a little different here.

Instead of mass production, I use discontinued gowns as my canvases.

These are sourced from bridal shops and individual sellers and were previously used for try-on’s
    — not altered or worn in a wedding.

I clean, repair, and occasionally style alter each dress in-house before starting the coloring process.

I approach each as an individual work of art. Often waiting for the gown to speak to me, merging the colors with the design of the original gown. These can take months to complete and I frequently develop new application techniques for each dress. I am an artist, not a designer. These are not meant for mass production but meant to be personal and embody the personality of the bride who will one day find it.
